BACVA & Vitamin Honored with International Hospitality Award

Baltimore Brings Home the Silver

Baltimore, Md. — March 31, 2004

Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International’s has recognized the Baltimore Area Convention and Visitors Association (BACVA) and Vitamin^® with the Silver Merit Award for web marketing excellence.

Vitamin and BACVA won the Silver Merit Award as part of the 2003 HSMAI Adrian Awards Competition, the largest and most prestigious travel event of its kind in the world. This year’s contest attracted more than 1,500 entries from 50 countries and destinations around the world, with entries judged by teams of experts from all sectors of the industry.

A Baltimore-based boutique design-web-PR firm, Vitamin conceptualized and created the award winning viral marketing project - an HTML e-mail/board game promotion - to acquire 2,500 new subscribers for BACVA’s monthly newsletter. The creative email highlights Baltimore’s unique attractions and entices individuals to sign up for a free trip to Baltimore.

The email was received by approximately 24,000 individuals, of which 2,563 became new subscribers. Additionally, more than 3,600 users entered the free trip contest and the winner was announced earlier this year.
