Blending graffiti art with a scrapbook-like theme, this site completely separates Avalon Cycles from competing bike shops via a one-of-a-kind look/feel. Utilizing custom home page photography and Flash, the site conveys a fresh, avant-garde and progressive feel; much like the feeling you get walking through the doors of the cycle shop itself. The site’s structure and navigation was created to push out a wealth of content, which is intended to be updated frequently in order to keep users coming back. Built-in drive-to-web modules were created so that the shop could inherently push shop traffic online. These modules include a detailed resource center, an area that allows users to send in self-portraits, and a “featured custom” section where customers who choose a custom bike purchase can then go online to view their one-of-a-kind build and spread the word virally by sending hyperlinks to friends.

Avalon Cycles is a progressive, well-stocked retail bike shop focused on the demands of high-end riders and professionals. As the only retail bike shop in the DC-Metropolitan area offering an array of specialty gear, parts, frames and inventory - right off the shelf - Avalon has very little competition and clients often travel from hours away to shop there. In addition to store inventory, Avalon also operates a large over-stock facility under the Avalon Cycles name in Elkridge, MD (next to Patapsco State Park).
